Pitch Report

Pitch is ideal for batting. Both pacers and spinners got almost equal number of wickets. As this is first match of the season go with a balanced team. Wicket will become more easy in second innings.

Team News : Sydney Sixers

13 members squad has been announced which will be lead by Henriques. Sydney Sixers were runners up of last year. They finished 3rd in group stage last year. This is one of the strongest teams and they also have good records in BBL history. Unfortunately Sixers lost to Perth Scorchers in finals. Once again they will start the tournament as favourites. They have strong batting line up in likes of Roy, Maddison, Hughes, Billings. Skipper Henriques is a good all rounder and he is very handy with both bat and ball. Steve O’ Keefe is their primary spinner. As pitch supported for spinners in past he may be helpful for his team. They have strong pace attack in names of Bollinger, Kyle Abbot.

Team News : Sydney Thunder

13 members squad has been announced and Shane Watson will lead this side. They had a worst season last year. They finished the season at bottom of the points table. Without any other expectations they are starting their first match. But Thunder are also having some good batting shape with players like Blizzard, Watson, Ferguson at top of the order. Buttler has a mixed BPL and once again he can be dreadful with bat on these kind of conditions. Bowling will mainly rely on McClenaghan, Fekete, Ahmed if he gets a game.
