Ailing Bangladesh seek respite in T20s
Bangladesh arrived in South Africa with high hopes of proving they had become a good team that can compete away from home but it did not happen either in Test format or in One day format. They succumbed to extra pace and bounce ,even though pitches were flat more placid than they usually are.Bangladesh have already lost the two test series and the three match Odi series.Neither the batsmen nor the bowlers took up the responsibilities and they have failed completely in all three sections against the African side.Bangladesh is yet to find something to disturb the South African steam roller and South Africa on the other hand is making the merry of the place they are in right now.
When and Where:
SA vs BAN, 1st T20I
Mangaung Oval, Bloemfontein
Climate – no chance of rain
This is clearly a batting friendly wicket and bowlers don’t get much support from this surface.Although pitch doesn’t support much for bowlers, keeping in mind about Bangladesh form definetly they may struggle to face the African side.Only one T20 was played here between SA and Zim and SA easily chased down the target 169 with 4 overs left.
Team News : South Africa
Faf du Plessis has been pulled out of the series because of a back injury and Morkel and Parnell were injured already so JP Duminy is leading the African side for the T20 series. The team also includes Hashim Amla and AB de Villiers, while Dwayne Pretorius will be the replacement for Faf. Miller injury is still strange he is almost recovered and has high chance of playing. If he is unfit then M Mosehle is likely to play in the playing XI. Robbie Frylinck, the uncapped right-arm medium pacer, is another candidate to earn a debut. Amla, who was rested for the final ODI will be part in T20 series.
Team News : Bangladesh
The visitors will be without Tamim Iqbal and Mustafizur Rahman, who have returned home due to injuries.Bangladesh also changed the captain and Shakib al Hasan would lead the side instead of Masharfe Mortaza, who has given retirement to T20 format.Shafiul Islam may come into playing XI and also this is the last opputunity for Bangladesh to prove themselves in the absence of few talented African players.
Prediction:Even though few experienced players are missing out still South Africa they are in a good position and also have deadly players and it’s almost their match only.Bangladesh must work out heavily to beat South Africa.
