New signings Matthew Ryan, Davy Propper and Markus Suttner may be in for their competitive debut for the club. Key members Anthony Knockaert and Glenn Murray are on the way to recovery and were involved with the U23 setup in order to be fit for the City clash.

MCI has a pretty healthy squad ahead of the first game of the season, but two players are still out: Benjamin Mendy and Ilkay Gundogan are recovering from injuries and should be back by the end of August. Everybody else is fit and ready to go. The official team news don’t come until 60 minutes before the match, but it’s safe to assume City will have a back three at the Amex.
