After winning against New Zealand in the opening match of the tri series, the hosts are getting ready for another crucial battle. Australia will face England in the 2nd match of the Tri series at Bellerive Oval. A tantalizing win over the Kiwis has put Australia in a commanding position before start of the 2nd match. On the other side, England has shown what they are capable of in while ball cricket during the Odi series. This is the first time both teams meeting each other after the Odi series. England has won five out of their last eight T20 matches played away from home. But for Australia they have not won back to back T20s in recent times. England line up is looking very strong and also very dangerous and this will be a big challenge for the in experienced Australian team.
Bellerive Oval – Hobart, Australia
This is a good batting surface and we can expect 180+ runs on this wicket.
Team News : Australia
This new team is looking very dangerous and they have already showed it against New Zealand. It all started from Billy Stanlake and this tall pacer collapsed the New Zealand’s top order batting line up right from his first over. He got good support from Tye at end. Warner will lead this side and no changes are announced.
Batting will rely mainly on the likes of Warner, Lynn, Short, Maxwell at top of the order. They have a very long batting line up and all are match winners. The only bothering for Australia is skipper Warner is not in form. Though Short failed in his debut match but he gave a fine performance in BBL finals. So we can expect he will utilize this great opportunity and will go big against the English bowlers. As match will be playing at Hobart the local boy can go for big in upcoming match. Lynn and Maxwell steadied the innngs for Australia when the team lost couple of wickets at early stage. Lynn is always a destructive batsman and no doubt if he plays such an innings again.Maxwell no doubt a very good player. Carey, Agar and Stoinis can be good at middle and lower orders.
Stanlake, Tye will form a core bowling attack for Australia. Both are in red hot form so the visitors should be careful while dealing them. If Australia wants to make a change that should be Richardson. Dwarshuis can replace Richardson but chances are less.
Team News : England
After Odi series injuries hit England’s ship. Jason Roy, Hales, Jordan and Plunkett are all under injury clouds but should be available for selection. Morgan will lead this side. Jason Roy and Hales can open the innings for England and the powerful opening combo won’t be scared to take on the Aussies right from the first ball. The opening combo already named themselves as powerful hitters and need not describe much about them. Just like Australia they also have a powerful strong batting line up in names of Morgan, Buttler, Billings, Willey. Anyone can play big and good innings.
Bowling will rely mainly on the likes of Dawson, Markwood and Rashid. Chris Jordan playing chances are doubtful but as per reports he is available. If Jordan does not play then either Tom or Sam Currans will replace him. Even in batting either Malan or Vince only one can play.
Australia Probable XI
England Probable XI
Jordan/ Tom Curran / Sam Curran
- In wicket keeper section Buttler is good option. Buttler bats at no.5 where as Carey at no.6 but Buttler is in good form.
- In batting from Australia Warner, Short and Lynn are only batsmen available. Though Warner is out of form we cannot underestimate him. Lynn can be a mandatory pick after such an innings in last match but we cannot think he can play like that in every match. Try to take any two from them. From England we can find number of options like Morgan, Roy, Hales, Malan, Billings. Billings bat at lower order. Take any two or three from the batting line up.
- In all rounder section from Australia either Maxwell or Stoinis can be mandatory. Agar bats at lower order but he had a good BBL season with ball. Take one or two. From England Plunkett and Dawson options are available. Take anyone both are good. Plunkett played well in Odi series.
- In bowling for Australia Tye, Stanlake, Richardson and Zampa are the options available. Take any two from Tye, Stanlake and Richardson. From England Willey, Wood, Jordan and Rashid all four are good and try to select any two.
Dream XI Team :
will be updated shortly….
Prediction : England now seems to be well familiar with the conditions and on the other side Australia performance is yet unpredictable because of new team. This can be a 60 – 40 game.
